SpletI did a fair number of "Armies as Giant Swarms" in 5e when the heroes were Level 30 and were fighting 200 or so level 6 creatures, modeled as a single high level swarm instead of a bunch of pathetic minions. When the players defeated their enemy, THEN it became a bunch of minions all running away. Worked out pretty good.
