Some TC barrels also give the handloader problems with sizing, tripping the safety and case life. I quit trying to get anything resembling high velocity from the Marlin Model 62. So a numbered 256 would seem the scarce variety here. You can still return your un-numbered Model 62 to the factory to be stamped with a number, but I'm not sure how that would wind up. There is some markings on it but no real serial number, from what i have already read there were made from 63'-69' only 5,960 were chambered in .256. I can not find bullets for it and from what i read they are valued from 400-1300$.
