Hounds for Heroes - Forces Pension Society
WebTheir life together inspired Allen and his wife, Sandra, to set up Hounds for Heroes in 2010. The initial aim was to raise £100,000 to train five puppies as assistance dogs for injured and disabled personnel of HM Armed Forces and Emergency Services. WebHounds for Heroes was founded in 2009 and registered in February 2010 by Allen Parton, an ex-servicemen who had suffered a traumatic head injury whilst serving in the Gulf in 1991. [2] [3] The charity was set up in both the memory of his original Assistance dog Endal , who was sadly euthanized on 13 March 2009, and to help the injured. WebHounds for Heroes dogs become a lifeline for someone who is battling with disability, bereavement, conflict and trauma on a daily basis. Our specially trained assistance dogs are taught to problem solve, and to be intuitive, they will remove the sense of disability in their partner’s life and replace it with a feeling of ability. brehm school illinois
